Senior golf Members aged 55 years and over are invited and encouraged to take part in all the activities arranged by the Seniors’ committee. September will best be remembered for what might have been. We went to Vicars Cross with an 8 - 2 lead but came away with a draw. A small consolation was that 3 Caldy players won golf balls by scoring ‘2’s and Leo Byrne won ‘nearest the pin’. Against Chester we were hopeful of overcoming a 6 - 4 defeat at Chester. But once again we could only manage another draw. We go into October with our final two matches against Leasowe and Heswall, fingers crossed we will turn Septembers’ near misses into Octobers’ victories. Looking ahead we will soon start our series of Senior Stablefords and lunches which run from October to March. On the first of these Monday, 21 October. We will play an 11 hole competition for the Irvine Trophy and hold a charity lunch to support the Captains’ charity. This is a new venture and all are encouraged to take part. If you don't want to play golf, come along for the lunch. Please have a look at the notice board in the locker room where you can see all the details.
