Competition news

Weekly Round Up

What a tough day last Saturday proved to be, with strong winds and continuous rain, we had some remarkable scoring by two of our up and coming Junior stars. Jack Gibson finished top of the leaderboard with a nett score of 69, pipping Adam Durband by one shot, who shot a fantastic gross score of 75.

This Saturday is the Glover Cup, a medal played from the White tees, anyone not wishing to play the medal can enter the yellow Stableford.

The Ladies managed to complete their Tuesday competition, just before the thunder and lightning started. Gabrielle Lanceley shot a nett 74 to beat Carolyn Marchbank by one shot. Next Tuesday is a Stableford, there are spaces available on BRS should any ladies wish to play.

Seniors news

A Great July for the Team

Members aged 55yrs. and over are invited and encouraged to play in any of the club matches.

July proved to be an excellent month for the seniors, we started with a win against Vicars Cross 8 - 2 and followed this with a win against Prenton 8.5 - 1.5. The results set us up nicely for the return legs and give us a great chance of winning both trophies.

The Chairman’s Salver attracted plenty of interest and a large field. Ian Hutchison winning with a net score of 66, which was 4 shots clear of Chris Davies and Karl Bergh. Well done Ian.

The matches scheduled for September are as follows:

Monday 9th September - Caldy Senior Ladies (date changed from 5th.)

Thursday 12th September - Vicars Cross Away

Thursday 19th September - Chester Home

Anyone wishing to play in any of these matches should add their name to the notice displayed in the locker room 4 weeks before the match date.

Fitting news

TaylorMade Fitting Day

Thanks to Dan Morris from TaylorMade for completing a full fitting session on Wednesday, with all appointments taken. Thank you to all who turned up to be fitted, on what was a windy day, I will be in touch over the next few days with all the details.

With the weather being a bit up and down the last few weeks we have been busy coaching and fitting in our SkyTrak studio, any members wishing to practice or take the opportunity to book a lesson please contact us for an appointment.

Junior Coaching

The number of children who have enjoyed our free taster sessions this last two weeks has been incredible. Our last session is this Friday at 9.30am.

As I mentioned in my past newsletter we are planning to add at least another two taster sessions after the upcoming festival week, I will release the times and dates in next week’s newsletter.

A ball for every occasion

Let’s be honest: we're greedy when it comes to our golf ball, and rightly so. We don’t want to have to choose between distance or feel; instead, we want a ball that offers us the lot.
